shipping-activityKARACHI: Three ships carrying containers, palm oil and diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively.

Meanwhile two more ships carrying containers and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of port during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy at the Port remained 54 percent where a total of seven ships namely C,V Maersk Wyoming, C.V MSC Magali, M.V Majestic, M,V Rana, M.V Tycoon-II, M.T Chemroad Mega and M,T Genmar Compatriot occupied berths to load/offload containers, wheat, cement, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 0.167 million tonnes, comprising 0.124 million tonnes import cargo and 0.043 million tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 6,3401 containers (TEUs) was handled at the port during last 48 hours.

Container ship V Maersk Wyoming sailed out to sea on Monday morning while two more ships C.V MSC Magall and M.T Chemroad Mega are expected to sail.

C.V MSC Jade carrying containers is expected to take berth at QICT on Manday. C.V Saudi Hofuf is due to arrive at Port Qasim the same day. Oil tanker AI-Salam-II, Container ships Nedloyed Tasman and UASC Doha are due to arrive on Tuesday, while two more ship C.V CMA CGM Chopin and C.V Arunl Rickmers are due to arrive on Wednesday next.
