LONDON: Gold rose more than 1 percent on Monday to a high of $1,509.70 an ounce as weakness in the dollar and a bounce in oil prices helped the metal recover from its biggest weekly loss since the first quarter of 2009.
Spot gold was bid at $1,507.69 an ounce at 0818 GMT, against $1,494.05 late in New York on Friday.
