Eleventh body pulled from collapsed Mexico mine

MEXICO CITY: Rescuers recovered an 11th body from a collapsed coal mine in northern Mexico late on Friday and kept searching for three more missing bodies.

Rescuers are digging around the clock to remove rubble in the shallow mine shaft that collapsed on Tuesday after a methane gas explosion outside the town of Sabinas in the desert state of Coahuila, which borders Texas.

All 14 miners lost in the explosion are presumed dead.

Labor Minister Javier Lozano said on Twitter that the 11th body was recovered just before midnight on Friday.

Mexico has been a leading minerals exporter for centuries and expects $4 billion in investment in its mining industry this year.
