British house prices ease in April

Published Updated

LONDON: British house prices dipped 0.2 percent in April from March, a key survey by home-loans provider Nationwide showed on Wednesday.

"The price of a typical house fell by 0.2 percent in April, which left prices 1.3 percent lower than the same period of 2010," Nationwide's chief economist Robert Gardner said in a statement.

The average value of a home in Britain stood at £165,609 (184,035 euros, $272,848) in April, according to Nationwide.
