women cricketKARACHI: The talented Pakistan opener Javeria Khan made a solid unbeaten 63 to steer her team to an exciting two wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the Quadrangular Women Cricket Series at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground Colombo, acording to a message received on Thursday.

Javeria displaying match temperament throughout the innings, faced 118 balls and struck five boundaries as the Pakistan team won the match with ten balls to spare.

Asmavia Iqbal made a steady 25 off 65 balls with a solitary four. Captain Sana Mir hit two boundaries in her 20 in 47 balls.

LE Kaushalya produced an excellent show with the bat and ball but failed to save her team from defeat. She top-scored with 35 in 52 balls with brace of boundaries and also took three wickets for 23 runs.

Earlier, batting first, the Sri Lankan women put up 153 all out in 49.5 overs. Pacer Qanita Jalil bowled well to snap three wickets for 20 runs in nine overs. Sadia Yousuf claimed three wickets for 19 runs in ten over. Debutant Masooma Jalil picked two wickets for 26 runs.
