SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were slightly higher in early trade Friday as gains in gold miners outweighed losses in financial companies, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was up 0.03 percent or 0.92 points at 2,887.96.
The Shanghai A-share index added 0.03 percent, or 0.98 points, to 3,024.86, while the Shenzhen A-share index gained 0.16 percent, or 2.01 points, to 1,240.32.
