CJP seeks implementation of Article 25-A

Iftikhar MuhammadQUETTA: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has emphasized the need to implement Article 25-A of the Constitution of Pakistan in letter and spirit in order to make the new generation literate. He said this while addressing a ceremony at Islamia Girls College Quetta on late Wednesday.

Earlier, he inaugurated newly constructed building of the college he said that "no nation could get goals and progress and prosperity until it promotes culture of respecting teachers". He urged people to get their daughters enrolled in the schools as saying an educated girl could make a family and a society educated.

He noted that those nations were devastated who did not respect their teachers.

He recalled that he was student of Islamia Primary School Quetta where he got education with sitting at mats and in makeshift hut classrooms.

Iftikhar appreciated the administration of Islamia educational institutions for their services for promotion of education. He also remembered the teachers Sultan Chaudhry Iqbal and Habib.

He suggested that Islamia Law College should be established in Quetta.

Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Qazi Faiz Isa recalled that it was his father who brought Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah at Islamia School Quetta.He linked the development of the nation with respecting teachers.

He recalled that his mother had said that giving education to a girl meant giving education to entire society.

Manager Islamia Schools and Colleges Malik Naeem said presently Anjuman Islamia had been running six educational institutions in Balochistan.

Supreme Court's Judge Justice Ghulam Rabbani and judges of the Balochistan High Court Justice Jamal Mandokhail and Justice Muhammad Noor Muskanzai, Principal Islamia Girls College Mah Jabeen and others were also present on the occasion.
