ISLAMABAD: A bill was tabled in the National Assembly on Tuesday to amend the Civil Servants Act, 1973 (Act No. LXXI of 1973) to bar the civil servants of having dual nationality, stopping their re-employment and appointment in the management scale after retirement.
The bill laid by Khurram Jahangir Wattoo to amend the Civil Servants Act, 1973 [The Civil Servants (Amendment) Bill, 2011] was referred to the committee concerned for further deliberation.
Jahangir Wattoo elaborating the salient feature of the proposed amendments said that under the Act no retired civil servant would be re-employed on any post in Federal Government departments, its statutory bodies and organizations.
He said civil servants having dual nationality would not be employed in any attached department, statutory body or other organization under the administrative control of the Federal Government.
He said the retiring civil servants, under this Act, would not be appointed in the management scales like MP Scales in any department of the Federal Government.
Besides, the civil servants would declare their assets and liabilities in the form of annual statements containing all details of assets and liabilities, moveable or immovable properties, jewellery and cash.
