LONDON: Europe's leading stock markets rose strongly at the start of trading on Wednesday, extending their recovery after a slump at the beginning of the week. London's benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed 1.03 percent to 5,957.87 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained 1.39 percent to 7,137.10 points and in Paris the CAC 40 advanced 0.99 percent to 3,947.46.
