ISLAMABAD: The Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Aziz Al-Ghadeer Monday expressed the hope that upcoming visit of the Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan would help explore new avenues and opportunities of cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador said while talking to Information Minister who called on her to discuss the forthcoming visit of the Minister to Saudi Arabia from April 20.
The Minister would be the first ever lady dignitary from Pakistan to visit to Saudi Arabia as state guest.
During the discussion with the Ambassador Dr Firdous said that relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are based on mutual trust, cooperation and common beliefs.
Awan also expressed her pleasure on her visit in which she will be meeting her counterpart and discuss cooperation in the field of media. The minister will also come into contact with leading professionals in the areas of education, culture, commerce, social and women development to enhance cooperation and collaboration between the two countries in these areas.
She appreciated the efforts and cooperation of Saudi Arabia in the establishment of International Islamic University and promotion of Islamic culture in Pakistan.
Awan also emphasized on the need to develop capacity building of media personnel through various training programmes so that they could play their positive role in further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
During her visit the Minister will also offer her condolence with King Abdullah over the demise of his sister. The minister also prayed for the health of King Abdullah and offered her best wishes.
