Asim welcomes German companies' interest in oil, gas exploration

z8ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has always welcomed the cooperation extended by Germany in various sectors of the economy, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr. Asim Hussain said on Thursday.

 

Talking to Dr Cyrill Nunn Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan who called on him, Dr Asim Hussain apprised the German Ambassador about the ongoing projects of the oil and gas sector in Pakistan.

 

He informed him that the Government is providing incentives to companies intending to invest in Oil and Gas sector of Pakistan.

 

The Advisor stated that recent policy initiatives has made Pakistan an investment friendly country particularly for the petroleum sector.

 

He welcomed the interest of German Companies in providing state of the art electronic equipment that could possibly be made useful in the oil exploration in Pakistan.

 

The German Ambassador was also requested for possible collaboration in the field of Petroleum education, particularly at the Institute of Science and Technology recently established by OGDCL under the direction of Advisor / Minister Petroleum.

 

Dr Cyrill Nunn Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan thanked the Advisor/Minister for meeting him and assured that the Government of Germany would extend all possible help in the energy sector and transfer of technology.
