ISLAMABAD: The 137th Corps Commanders Conference was held at General Headquarters Friday which was chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani.
The conference was part of regular monthly meetings, said a press release. The forum was given comprehensive briefings on internal and external security challenges Pakistan is facing. The participants dwelt at length on various professional matters and expressed their satisfaction over the state of operational preparedness of the Army.
The COAS in his remarks expressed satisfaction over the conduct of stability operations in tribal areas and appreciated beginning of transition to civilian control in Shangla and Buner.
He also lauded ongoing efforts by Army Formations in reconstruction being carried out in the flood affected areas of the Country.
