ISLAMABAD: Expressing deep concern over the havoc caused across the country by the recent rains, President Asif Ali Zardari has directed National Disaster Management Authority and its provincial components to gear up their efforts in providing relief to the affected people.
Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the President, while expressing his concern over the loss of lives and damage to the property, emphasized that the situation calls for greater coordination and concerted efforts by all the concerned not only to provide relief to the people but also to take necessary measures so as to minimize further loss to lives and property of the people.
The President also advised the Government to provide maximum possible relief to the affected people, especially the poor people whose houses have been damaged as a result of recent downpour.
