KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where four ships carrying containers and edible oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Tuesday, 10th July, 2012. Meanwhile one more ship scheduled to load/offload containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 75% at the Port on Wednesday where total number of eight ships namely MV. Sealand Washington, Hanjin Elizabeth, Nedlloyed Drake, MV. Salta, Kaimon Galaxy, MV. Cape, MT. Mako and STX Jaguar are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemical, canola seed, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 85133 tonnes comprising 51833 tonnes imports and 33300 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2227 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
