KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where four ships carrying containers, chemical, canola seed and furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminals, FAP Terminal and FOTCO Terminal on Sunday, 8th July, 2012.
Meanwhile four more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, chemical and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 45% at the Port on Monday where total number of five ships namely MSC Jade, MV. Salta, Bunga Laurel, MV. Cape and MT, Mato are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemical, canola seed and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 46050 tonnes comprising 27990 tonnes imports and 18060 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 860 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
