KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where one ship carrying container was allotted berth at Qasim International Container Terminal on Sunday.
Meanwhile four more ships scheduled to load/offload container, chemical, coal and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was only 35% at the port on Monday where total number of four ships namely Maersk Wisconsin, Luilang Wisdem, MV Karachi and Chem Road Turkey are currently occupying berth to load/offload containers, wheat, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 53187 tonnes, comprising 39824 tonnes imports and 13993 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 668 containers (Boxes) were handle at the port during last 24 hours.
