  • The company is also reportedly planning to ditch 7nm processor that is being used since the A12 Bionic.
  • New iPhones may feature Qualcomm’s X55 5G modem.

With most of the smartphone manufacturers are inclined towards 5G technology, finally Apple has decided to join the race with new 5G iPhones as early as next year.

According to Nikkei reports, the company is planning to release three iPhones with 5G connectivity featuring Qualcomm’s X55 5G modem.

The new modem will reportedly be paried with Apple’s new chipset, which is likely to be called the A14 Bionic. It is also likely to be the first from the company to be built using a 5-nanometer process.

This is not the first time the Apple is linked with 5G phones. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made a similar prediction back in July.

Furthermore, the company is also reportedly planning to ditch 7nm processor that is being used since the A12 Bionic. The company is more inclined to use 5nm fabrication.

As well as 5G connectivity and a new chip fabrication process, next year’s iPhones are also expected to be Apple’s first redesign of its flagship phones since 2017.
