  • Amir was picked by London Spirit for a whooping £100,000.
  • Shadab was chosen by Southern Brave for £75,000, Shaheen Afridi went to Birmingham Phoenix for £60,000.

Pakistan’s bowling trio of speedster Mohammad Amir, Shaheen Shah Afridi and leggie Shadab Khan were picked for The Hundred Draft.

Amir led the Men in Green into the draft, becoming the first Pakistani player picked in The Hundred Draft. The fast bowler was picked by London Spirit for a whooping £100,000. Whereas, leg spinner Shadab was grabbed by Southern Brave for £75,000.

Meanwhile, young gun Shaheen went to Birmingham Phoenix for £60,000. “Shaheen Shah Afridi left arm pace, I'm really pleased with him being picked for us. He's a quality bowler and he'll be fantastic playing at Edgbaston,” said Pheonix’s icon Moeen Ali.

The first pick of the draft went to Trent Rockets, who opted for Afghanistan’s spin sensation and the No.1 T20I bowler Rashid Khan. The other players to go in the first round were Andre Russell (Southern Brave), Aaron Finch, Mujeeb Ur Rahman (both Northern Superchargers), Sunil Narine (Oval Invincibles), Imran Tahir, Dane Vilas (both Manchester Originals), Glenn Maxwell (London Spirit), and Liam Livingstone (Birmingham Phoenix).

Babar Azam, the No.1 ranked T20I batsman, was not sold before his reserve price of £75000 was passed and so will not be playing a part in the tournament.

The upcoming 100-ball English tournament would be played among eight city-based teams, and will take place next year from 17 July-16 August. The eight teams will be based in London (two teams), Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Cardiff and Southampton.
