Pakistan former strength and conditioning coach Grant Luden could be working for the Indian cricket team in the coming days, after the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) shortlisted him among other candidates for the second round of interviews.

“The selection committee has decided to call the following candidates for the post of Strength and Conditioning Coach to the NCA for a second round of interviews to assess their practical skills.

“Candidates - Mr Luke Woodhouse, Mr Grant Luden, Mr Rajnikanth Sivagnanam, Mr Nick Webb and Mr Anand Date,” stated BCCI in a statement.

Days ago the PCB decided not to renew the contracts of head coach Mickey Arthur and his support staff, including batting coach Grant Flower and bowling coach Azhar Mahmood, a move that come after the national team’s debacle at ICC World Cup 2019.

The PCB announced that it will be “immediately undertaking a robust recruitment process” after refusing to renew the contracts of Arthur, Flower, Mahmood, and trainer Grant Luden.

Meanwhile, the PCB is searching to fill the vacant positions of national team’s head coach, batting coach and bowling coach, with former Pakistan captain Misbah ul Haq being considered a heavy favorite to replace Arthur.

It is pertinent to mention, that the deadline to submit applications is August 26.
