Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday sought the details of all inquiries in corruption cases to the tune of Rs 100 million in the province. A division bench of the SHC headed by Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh also directed Director Generals (DGs) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi and Sukhur to appear in the hearing of the case on May 16, 2019 along with the complete record of inquiries.
Court also sought the details of references of corruption cases to the tune Rs.100 million in the province and showed annoyance over sending the inquiry of corruption in Health Department Sindh to Anti-Corruption Department.
Investigation officer of the case told the court that inquiry in corruption case involving two accused Moahmamd Younas and Ghulam Mustafa in Health Department were sent to Anti-Corruption Department when court took up the hearing of the case in the inquiries of corruption case.
Earlier, Chairman Anti-Corruption Department told the court that department is seized with 39 inquiries with the oldest one is going on since 2001.
Chief Justice showing displeasure over the slow of pace of inquiries remarked whether department would conclude the inquiry when the accused would die.
He also questioned about the cases referred to the department for inquires and stated that where these cases have gone. Court returned the reply of Anti-Corruption Department Chairman and directed him to submit one with the affidavit. Anti-Corruption Department Chairman submitted the reply after the court had sought the details of inquiries in a previous hearing.
