The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mahsud has directed police high ups to ensure foolproof security measures for maintenance of law and order during the holy month of Ramazan. This was circulated amongst all Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers throughout the province in a circular issued from CPO here Thursday.
They have been directed in the circular to tighten the noose around the nick of terrorists, further improve their intelligence network, keep close vigilance on the militants organization and fanatic elements, establish inlets and outlets of each and every city and carry out special checking on these points without causing any embarrassment to the citizen.
The IGP further directed the police officials to take special measures for safety and security of important national installations, personalities, worships places, markets, banks, hospitals, petrol pumps, railway stations, airport and other potential targets. They have further been directed to take security measures for those offering prayers at mosques and other worship places especially during Fajar and Taraweeh time. The police officials were also directed to carry out checking of hotels, inns and guest houses for security purposes.
The IGP also directed to launch a well calculated drive against the professional beggars and they should not be allowed to beg together outside the worship places. In special circular, traffic police have also been directed to ensure smooth flow of traffic especially during rush hours and Iftari time and traffic police should open fasting on duty spot.
