LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Saturday called for putting in order effective measures to ensure meaningful partnership between public and private sectors.
LCCI Senior Vice President Khawaja Shahzad Nasir and Vice President Fahimur Rehman Sehgal said in a media statement that public and private sectors would have to strengthen their mutual coordination by joining hands in the country's economic development.
They were of the view that constant liaison among federal and provincial departments and chambers of commerce and industry would not only resolve the business-related problems at the earliest but also ensure provision of viable suggestions by the private sector to the government, which was need of the hour.
The Chamber's office-bearers stressed the need for active participation of federal and provincial ministers in the exhibitions, trade fairs and other events organised by the chambers of commerce and industry and other trade bodies, citing that it could also promote public-private partnership.
