On Wednesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,197. The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 2.498 billion and the number of lots traded was 7,229. Major business was contributed by gold PKR 642.519 million, followed by silver PKR 453.801 million, platinum PKR 313.785 million, currencies through COTS PKR 298.425 million, WTI crude oil PKR 277.366 million, DJ PKR 147.905 million, NSDQ 100 PKR 106.336 million, SP500 PKR 84.853 million, natural gas PKR 79.396 million, copper PKR 70.537 million and Brent crude oil PKR 23.600 million.
In agricultural commodities 85,387 lot of red chilli amounting to PKR 15.021 million and six lots of cotton amounting to PKR 2.588 million were traded.
