Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali, Member (Coordination & Monitoring) PARC, Chief Scientist/Senior Director (NIGAB) has been appointed as Director General, National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC), Islamabad with effect from 15-12-2017. At the time of his appointment as Director General, NARC, Dr Ali distinguished himself as a thorough professional, a diligent and hardworking officer, having a firm handle on Agricultural Research &administrative affairs.
Earlier, in his professional career, he has also served as project director National Institute for Genomics and Advanced Biotechnology (NIGAB) at the NARC. Under his administrative control, the NIGAB laboratory earned a name in production of disease-free potato seed and banana plants and is engaged in modern research technologies and problem-oriented research objectives.
Dr Ali is well known as a humble and a soft spoken person. PARC anticipates that under the leadership of Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali, NARC will play a vital role in Agri Research & Development and he will lead the NARC scientists towards achieving goals & targets in agriculture research system as per the mandate of PARC/NARC.-PR
