Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Friday that the PML-N should abstain from blame game as the third force has clarified that it is not vying for usurping power in the country. He further advised the judiciary and NAB to open Hudayibia case if Shehbaz Sharif is adamant to claim his innocence.
He was addressing at a joint press conference after holding a meeting with head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (Niazi) Peer Syed Masoom Naqvi on Friday. Both the sides discussed prevailing political situation in the country. Peer Naqvi desired to join hands with the PPP for politics in future.
He said the ruling party was playing with the gallery by nominating first Mariam Nawaz and now Shehbaz Sharif for the office of premiership. It was a part of its strategy, he stressed. He said dirty politics of Nawaz Sharif would be exposed soon. Mehmood Achakzai was a nationalist while Nawaz Sharif was doing politics of Punjab therefore they carry similar ideologies, he added.
He lamented that those who were once carrying Dr Tahirul Qadri on their shoulders are opposing him today. He demanded justice for 14 killings of Model Town tragedy. "We will support Dr Qadri on this front," he added. Kaira said JUP Niazi has decided to join hands with the PPP to bring country back on track. I would brief my leadership in this regard," he added.
He said it is too early to say something about any prospective political NRO. He made it clear that the PPP would not let democracy derail despite its concerns over judicial verdicts. "We had strengthened Parliament through 18th amendment which helped Nawaz Sharif," he said.
