Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday said that terrorism has been completely eradicated from the country. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Women's University and public gathering in Kohat, the PM paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the devastating attack on the Army Public School (APS) that took place three years ago in Peshawar.
"It has been three years since the unfortunate incident in Peshawar took place," Abbasi said while referring to the APS incident in Peshawar. "Today, terrorism has been eradicated from Pakistan and PML-N has delivered its promises," Abbasi said while addressing a public convention in Kohat. PM said: "As a result of this fight, we have defeated terrorism and today, our schools and mosques our safe," he added. "Everyone is free to visit markets and live freely in this country."
"The mosques are safe, the entire country is safe today," the prime minister said, adding that the ruling party has continued to serve the nation by ending the electricity and gas crisis.
Discussing the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abbasi said that 'some people' are trying to politicise the issue. "Efforts are being made to politicise the issue but PML-N has always put Pakistan first and tried to unite people," he said. "It should be understood that we are going ahead and trying to abolish a hundred-years-old system."
"Everyone wants FATA to become part of Pakistan," Abbasi stressed. "FATA has the support of the National Assembly, Senate, and the public and Inshallah the PML-N government will resolve this issue."
The prime minister also said that PML-N president Nawaz Sharif fulfilled his promises and the ruling party is the only party that has delivered its promises.
"Nobody appreciates the politics of slandering and mudslinging," he said. "Politics should be based on serving the nation." He continued to say that his party will participate in next elections on the basis of its performance and the people will vote for the rightful candidate.
The prime minister was in Kohat for the ground-breaking ceremony of the dualization of the 128-km Sarai Gambila-Kohat Road and 73-km Pindigheb-Kohat road.
