Director General Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab Brigadier Muzaffar Ali Ranjha (Retd) has directed regional directors Anti-Corruption Punjab to focus the corruption in illegal Housing Schemes, Co-operative Housing Societies, manufacturing and sale of spurious drugs with connivance of Drug Inspectors and gratification in Land Record Centres and take prompt action against officials on receipt of complaints against these departments.
While addressing monthly review meeting of Regional Directors of Anti-Corruption, Muzaffar Ali Ranjha said illegal housing schemes and co-operative housing societies were plundering huge public money in connivance with the concerned development authorities, TMAs and Co-operative Department.
"Plot mafia is active and looting total savings of the local as well as overseas and the effected persons are running from pillar to post for justice. All concerned departments have closed their eyes over plundering which shows that these are co-accused in the scams."
He said culprits involved in manufacturing and sale of spurious drugs were playing with the lives of the citizens and that couldn't be continued without help and co-operation of Drug Inspectors and concerned officials of Health Department. "Chief Minister Punjab has effectively started a drive against spurious drug dealers and officers of Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) are directed to pull their socks to make the campaign more effective and result oriented."
He said Punjab Government had started Land Record Management Information System aiming at minimising role of Patwari and prompting delivery of verified copies of land record/documents without hazards but still people were lodging complaints of gratification on the part of Patwaris which was an attempt to fail LRMIS, a historical step in the revue history of the province. DG ACE directed Regional Directors to take immediate notice of complaints against Land Record Centres and arrest the revenue staff involved in corruption without delay.
