The third reserve balloting for the APNA ROZGAR Scheme took place on October 28 during a function at the Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam in Lahore. Provincial Finance Minister Ayesha Ghaus chaired the function. The scheme will provide 50,000 vehicles (25,000 Suzuki Bolan and 25,000 Ravi) to successful applicants. Repayment is to be done in 60 monthly instalments at the 0-percent mark-up rate. The Punjab government will subsidise the 100-percent mark-up.
The balloting was conducted to create reserve pool for filling vacancies created due to DVC (District Verification Committees) rejections, voluntary withdrawals and non-compliance of terms & conditions by applicants of earlier ballots. The delivery of the vehicles started on March 20 and the Bank of Punjab has so far completed the deliveries of 35,000 vehicles.
The computerised transparent balloting took place in the presence of reporters under the supervision of a committee constituted by the Punjab government. The function also saw the presence of elected parliamentarians, government officials, senior executives of the Bank of Punjab and civil society members.-PR
