FAISALABAD: Sheikh Farooq Yusuf, acting President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), has demanded another extension of one month in Tax Amnesty Scheme (TAS). In a statement issued here on Friday, he said that Pakistan remained busy in hectic election campaigns which dominated all other events including business and commercial activities.
He said that being an integral part of our society, businessmen also remained involved in politics in one way or the other and hence they could not avail the opportunity of TAS.
"It is also worth mentioning that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) failed to achieve the required result from this scheme due to the preoccupation of the elements concerned in other activities," he added.
Therefore, it is highly recommended that the validity period of this scheme should be extended for another one month.
