KARACHI: Co-Chairman Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday held the federal government responsible for the power crisis. He said that the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) had promised to end load shedding within 6 months but it's been 2 years since they are in power and the crisis is still there. He said that the protest will continue.
Presiding over a meeting on water and power crisis at Bilawal House, Karachi, Bilawal said the PML-N government has failed to resolve the circular debt. He said that problems have multiplied only because of incompetence, poor governance and corruption. Bilawal said that the PML-N used to make a lot of hue and cry over the circular debt and the Nandipur Power project. "We now want to know where the government stands now on these two issues", he said. He said that the protest against the federal government must continue. Co-Chairman PPP directed the Chief Minister Sindh to improve water supply in Karachi and to prepare for the local body elections.
In his message for PPP President Punjab Manzoor Wattoo, Bilawal said that protests against the load shedding along with opposition parties are praiseworthy. He said that federal government and K-Electric were responsible for hundreds of deaths in Karachi due to heatwave. Earlier, Chairman of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday called on Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and discussed situation emerging after intense heat wave in Sindh.
The PPP Chairman recalled that the PML-N government on assuming office over two years ago had promised to end load shedding in six months but after the passage of more than two years the power crisis worsened on the one hand and the circular debt increased on the other. "This is nothing but a manifestation of sheer incompetence, poor governance and corruption", he said.
