KARACHI: Mohammad Ali Jinnah University’s (MAJU) BS Software Engineering students, Ali Iqbal, Syed Abdul Basit Hussain and Hasham, have designed a mobile phone application for energy conservation under the supervision of their teacher Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui. With the use of this mobile phone application, a person who is sitting in a room at his home, may switch off the lights of other rooms, kitchen or corridors.
For this purpose, he is not required any movement for doing so. In case, if a person is out of home and later on, he thinks that he has forgotten to switch off the lights of his room, he could switch off the lights with this mobile phone application. MAJU students had also presented their home automation project at National Engineering Projects competition held at the university campus recently.
MAJU President Prof Dr. Zubair Shaikh and Associate Dean, Engineering & Computing Faculty, Dr. Asim Imdad have appreciated the efforts of the students for designing a public interest project and hoped that they would continue such efforts in future too.
