PARTLY FACETIOUS: Western public increasingly turning against Israel
“Ah woe is me.”
“That’s a Shakespearean quote though I haven’t heard anyone quote it.”
“Which quote have you heard?”
“The quality of mercy is not strained, it droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven upon the place beneath. It is twice blessed – it blesseth him that gives and him that takes.”
“That maybe applicable to the courts in the West….”
“Well you know what? The activists of the proscribed Palestine Action group are getting off in the UK courts….”
“That’s because they have a jury system – you know a jury of their peers who were convinced that their attacks on military industries that sell to Israel – a country engaging in genocide for the past three years and…”
“David Lammy, you know the Deputy Prime Minister of UK, has proposed legislation that would replace juries with judges in certain mid-level, technical and high volume offences and trial by jury would be limited to the most heinous crimes like murder, rape….”
“Can I make an observation?”
“Well if you are going to say it is a legislation that would no doubt be opposed by the public as Western public is increasingly turning against Israel because of its atrocities that are continuing and no longer hidden thanks to the social media….”
“Social media is also going to be regulated for your information, but that was not what I was going to observe. I just wanted to point out that this legislation as and when passed, I mean labour does have the numbers, is akin to our twenty seventh constitutional amendment.”
“UK eat your heart out – we are way ahead of you!”
”Indeed we continue to be the trailblazers! One question though a reversal of this…this….”
“UK legislation or the twenty seventh amendment?”
“Well UK legislation, a legislation can be reversed a lot easier than a constitutional amendment that requires two third majority and…”
“I have an idea. What if we begin a jury system?”
“It won’t work because one needs a higher education level than we clearly have, and it may well allow the influentials to win a higher percentage of court cases than at present.”
“So what? Like current expenditure – 94 percent of the total…”
“Hey I am not in the numbers game.”
