Spain's Q1 GDP quarterly growth confirmed at 0.6%

Spain’s gross domestic product grew 0.6% in the first quarter of 2026, below the 0.8% growth in the previous quarter, the country’s National Statistics Institute (INE) said on Thursday, confirming both the expectations of analysts polled by Reuters and the preliminary data.
On an annual basis, Spain’s first-quarter economic output expanded by 2.7%, also confirming INE’s preliminary reading and the analysts expectations.

The Bank of Spain said last week that it expects GDP to grow 0.5%-0.6% in the second quarter from the previous three months and kept the 2026 GDP growth forecast at 2.3% and at 1.7% for 2027.
