ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of its convener, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, during which audit objections related to the Ministry of Interior for the period from 2003-04 to 2019-20 were reviewed.
Regarding the audit objection about the misuse of funds allocated to the Pakistan Public Works Department (Pak PWD) for the construction of the Judicial and Administrative Complex, the audit brief stated that a payment of Rs 27.3 million was made to Pak PWD. Later, the project was transferred to the Capital Development Authority (CDA), but the amount paid to the PWD was not refunded to the CDA.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Islamabad briefed that the ITC Complex was scheduled to be built in 1993, and the Pak PWD had already made the payment to the contractor.
