CM Maryam to represent Pakistan at 'World Urban Forum' in Azerbaijan
LAHORE: The Punjab government has reaffirmed its commitment to forging international partnerships for urban development, while Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has stepped onto the global stage to showcase Punjab’s flagship projects.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has departed for a three-day visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, where she will represent Pakistan at the international World Urban Forum being held in the city of Baku from May 17 to 20.
During the visit, the chief minister is scheduled to hold an important meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on May 17. The CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz will attend the forum as a special state guest.
The chief minister will also deliver a keynote address at the World Leaders Summit being held at the Baku Olympic Stadium.
At the forum, the CM Maryam Nawaz will present the Punjab government’s flagship housing initiative “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” as a model for affordable housing. The project will be introduced before the international community as Punjab’s unique model in the affordable housing sector.
The chief minister is accompanied by Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azma Bukhari, Housing Minister Bilal Yasin, Sports Minister Faisal Ayub, Agriculture Minister Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, Special Assistant Ali Dar, the Chief Secretary Punjab and other relevant officials.
