LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) enforcement teams during crackdown against electricity theft, meter tampering, and illegal power usage, uncovered meter security breach cases involving a tube well and a commercial connection in separate operations.
According to LESCO authorities, the Metering & Testing (M&T) Eastern Shalimar team carried out action in the Jati Umrah subdivision and detected a security breach in the meter of a commercial hostel connection. Officials reported that the connection was utilizing a 16-kilowatt load and had a 25-kVA transformer installed.
During the inspection, authorities found that the hostel consisted of13 rooms and one store room. LESCO officials said evidence has been collected and further legal and departmental action has been initiated against the owners of the building.
In another operation, the M&T Kasur team conducted an inspection in the Phool Nagar subdivision, where a tube well connection belonging to a consumer identified as Rehmat was checked.
