LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the ‘Punjab Film City’ project would become Pakistan’s first “end-to-end” media production hub.

“This project would provide facilities for film, television, digital media, VFX, and post-production apart from having modern studios, sound stages, post-production labs, shooting locations, and a lake.

A convention hall, media trade hub, and film and music school are also part of the project,” the CM said during a meeting with the Academy Award (Oscar)-winning Pakistani-origin filmmaker and journalist Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, here Wednesday.

The chief minister appreciated Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s professional achievements and expertise, and termed her efforts in highlighting social issues through documentary filmmaking as commendable.

During the meeting, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her contributions to arts and culture.

Both sides discussed the Punjab Film City project in Nawaz Sharif IT City and agreed on mutual collaboration.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy said that the chief minister is doing commendable work and described her leadership as exemplary, adding that people of Karachi also acknowledge her efforts.
