ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Sunday issued an urgent traffic advisory, effective immediately until further notice, restricting movement across key parts of the capital, including the Red Zone.
In a statement, the ICT Police said that entry into the Red Zone would be prohibited for all vehicles except official government transport.
Traffic flow from Kashmir Chowk towards Serena Chowk and the Srinagar Highway was also suspended.
Commuters travelling from Bharakahu were advised to use Club Road via Kashmir Chowk to enter Islamabad, while those coming from Murree Road can also use Club Road to reach Bharakahu.

The Srinagar Highway will remain closed from the 7th Avenue bridge to Serena Chowk, police said, adding that both sides of the road from Zero Point to 7th Avenue flyover remain open to traffic.
It said that the motorists may use the Seventh Avenue intersection to access sectors G-6, G-7, or Chand Tara Chowk.
Key arteries including Faisal Avenue via Margalla Road, the route from Nawaz Chowk to F-7 Markaz, and the road from Khayaban Chowk towards Blue Area remain open.
Nazimuddin Road towards F-6 and F-7, as well as Fazl-e-Haq Road towards G-6 and G-7, are also open for traffic.
Police urged residents to plan their journeys in accordance with the advisory and to stay updated through official communication channels, including social media platforms and the Islamabad Traffic Police FM radio service.
