LAHORE: In line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a special behavioural training programme has been launched to promote positive attitudes, courtesy, and a public-friendly culture within Punjab Police.

On the instructions of IG Punjab Abdul Kareem, a comprehensive training programme for police officers and personnel across the province is under way, under which one-day training is being provided through a special behavioural module.

Punjab Police spokesperson said that during the training programme, police officers and personnel are being given special instructions to interact with citizens with courtesy, a polite tone, and a dignified manner. Special emphasis is being placed on addressing the public respectfully as “Sir” and “Madam.”

Punjab Police spokesperson further said that it has been made mandatory to adopt a courteous and dignified attitude towards citizens at all stages, including checkpoints, registration of FIRs, investigations, and other processes, so that trust, respect, and stronger relations between the police and the public are promoted.

He further said that representatives of civil society are also playing an active role in this training programme and are providing support to improve the professional capabilities and ethical conduct of police officers.
