KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 168,024 tonnes of cargo comprising 98,983 tonnes of import cargo and 69,041 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours, ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 98,983 tonnes comprised of 57,402 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 5,471 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 306 tonnes of B Bulk Cargo, 1,676 tonnes of Chickpeas, 6,614 tonnes of Soya Bean Seeds, & 27,514 tonnes of Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 69,041 tonnes comprised of 13,595 tonnes of B Bulk Cargo, 12,395 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 35,245 tonnes of Clinkers, 2,706 tonnes of Rice, & 5,100 tonnes of Liquid Cargo.
Approximately, 10 ships namely, Marine Ista, Ocean Breeze I, Pearl, Jasmin, Nikita, Gfs Jade, San Felipe, Chemroad Echo, Xin Pu Dong berthed at the Karachi Port Trust.
Around, 06 ships namely, Msc Milan, Du Juan Song, Hosun, MT Sargodha sailed from the Karachi Port Trust.
PORT QASIM
A total of ten ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them two ships, Nikos and Hansa Europe left the port on Thursday morning, while another ship ‘Eastren Venture’ expected to sail on Thursday.
Cargo volume of 146,771 tones comprising 96,335 tones imports cargo and 50,436 export cargo carried in 4,087 Containers (1,703 TEUs Imports & 2,384 TEUs Export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 12 ships at Outer Anchorage of the Port Qasim, out of them a edible oil carrier ‘Aprex’ is expected to take berth at LCT on Thursday 12th March, 2026.
