FAISALABAD: Chief Engineer Transmission & Grid (T&G) FESCO, Engineer Faisal Raza Marth, has said that all necessary technical and administrative measures have been adopted to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers during the upcoming summer season. In this regard, projects for enhancing the capacity of various grid stations, improving transmission lines, and comprehensive testing of equipment have been successfully completed. He expressed these views while addressing a special meeting held at the GSO Circle.

He said that on the special directives of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) FESCO, Engr Muhammad Aamer, the capacity of ten 132KV grid stations in the FESCO region has been enhanced in view of the increasing demand for electricity. These grid stations are included 132KV Fazil, 132KV Kot Momin, 132KV Bundala, 132KV Khanewana, 132KV Adda Gojra, 132KV Steam Power Station, 132KV SCARP Colony, 132KV Shorkot Road, 132KV Kaloor Kot New, and 132KV Bhamb. Through these upgradation measures, not only has the electricity distribution capacity been increased, but it will also help in better load management during the summer season.

Chief Engineer Faisal Raza Marth further stated that projects for the installation and improvement of incoming and outgoing transmission lines at various grid stations have also been completed to make the power transmission system stronger and more reliable. He said that complete overhauling of power transformers installed at FESCO grid stations has been carried out, while their C&DF testing and oil testing have also been successfully completed. In addition, to ensure improved system performance, contact resistance testing, purity testing, and oil testing of HT circuit breakers have also been conducted so that any possible technical faults can be addressed in advance.

Engineer Faisal Raza Marth further informed that to overcome the issue of voltage drop, capacitors with a total capacity of 31.5 MVA have been installed at different grid stations. These include installation of 7.2MVA capacitors at Kot Momin, Chak No430 JB, Chiniot Road, and Kaloor Kot new grid stations, while capacitors with a capacity of 2.4MVA have been installed at Bundala grid station. These measures will significantly improve the voltage profile and ensure better quality electricity supply to consumers.

The Chief Engineer said that GSO technical teams are fully prepared to deal with the increase in electricity demand during the summer and advance planning has already been finalized to handle any emergency situation. He reiterated that FESCO is utilizing all available resources to provide its consumers with the most stable, safe, and high-quality electricity supply.

At this occasion, Superintending Engineer (GSO) Zubdat-ul-Zia, XEN Ejazullah, XEN Altaf Kashif, XEN Muhammad Ramzan, and XEN Nasrullah were also present.
