Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met with a four-member delegation from Türkiye’s Agricultural Technologies Cluster (TUME), led by Board Chairman Abdulkadir Karagöz, to discuss deepening bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture and livestock.

During the meeting held in Islamabad, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to transforming its agricultural landscape by adopting Turkish technological innovations.

“Pakistan is keen to strengthen its exemplary brotherly ties with Türkiye through a robust economic partnership,” the prime minister stated, adding that both nations possessed the potential to become key players in the global food value chain, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement.

PM Shehbaz highlighted that while nature had blessed Pakistan with abundant agricultural resources, the integration of modern technology was essential to fully realise that potential.

He emphasised the need for a comprehensive strategy and mutual cooperation between friendly nations to modernise farming practices and enhance productivity.

TUME Board Chairman Karagöz briefed the premier on the advanced technologies his firm employs to boost agricultural yield. He expressed a strong desire to expand cooperation with Pakistan, noting that ties between the two countries served as a “guiding light” for increased collaboration between their respective business communities.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, İrfan Neziroğlu, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, and other senior officials.
