Brazil’s 2025/26 soybean harvest reaches 10pc of area

SAO PAULO: Brazilian farmers had harvested 10percent of their 2025/26 soybean crop as of last Thursday, agribusiness consultancy AgRural said on Monday, up 5 percentage points from the previous week and exceeding the 9percent reported a year earlier.

There have been no major setbacks in the harvest so far, AgRural said. The consultancy, however, highlighted the need to monitor weather conditions in Rio Grande do Sul state in February. Losses may also affect later-maturing areas of Parana, Santa Catarina, and southern Mato Grosso do Sul states.

Planting of Brazil’s second corn crop reached 13percent of the estimated area, compared with 9percent a year earlier, AgRural said. The first corn harvest hit 10percent, lagging behind the 14percent seen a year earlier.
