ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s Special Judge Central Court Islamabad has granted bail to Najaf Hameed, brother of former Director General ISI Lt Gen Faiz Hameed (retd).

Special Judge Central issued a written order confirming Najaf Hameed’s bail after he appeared before the court along with his counsel Raja Abdul Qadeer.

During the hearing, the defence counsel informed the court that a settlement had been reached between Najaf Hameed and the complainant. On the basis of the compromise, the defence requested the court to confirm the interim bail. The Assistant Director Legal opposed the confirmation of bail on behalf of the FIA. However, the complainant appeared before the court and recorded a statement confirming that a settlement had been reached with Najaf Hameed. The complainant further stated that he did not wish to pursue the case any further.

In its order, the court observed that without examining the merits of the case, Najaf Hameed’s bail was being confirmed. The court also ruled that the bail would stand confirmed on the same surety bonds that had been submitted for interim bail.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on December 31, 2025 had registered a corruption case against Najaf Hameed, the brother of former ISI chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed (retd), over allegations of land fraud using forged documents.

According to media reports, the case has been filed against Najaf Hameed for allegedly transferring land through forged documents.
