ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) resolved 15,805 cases in 2025, according to its annual performance report released on Friday, highlighting what it describes as the court’s commitment to efficient case management.

The report provides a detailed and thorough analysis of the productivity of individual judges, single benches, larger benches, and division benches, offering valuable insights into the court’s overall performance throughout the year.

In a year marked by a heavy caseload, the division bench led by Justice Babar Sattar and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan emerged as the highest performer of 2025, resolving a remarkable 412 cases.

Specially formed to address complex tax law matters, this bench delivered swift justice in a critical area for both the economy and the legal system, playing a key role in the court’s overall success.

Single benches handled the bulk of the workload, disposing of 11,108 cases throughout the year. Meanwhile, larger and division benches collectively resolved 4,697 cases.

Justice Inam Amin Minhas led the court’s individual performance, resolving 2,039 cases. He was followed by Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, who disposed of 1,841 cases, and Justice Muhammad Asif, who resolved 1,338 cases.

Chief Justice IHC Sarfraz Dogar resolved 1,223 cases and, in his capacity as acting Chief Justice, completed hearings for 13 high-profile cases.

Other significant contributions came from Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, who resolved 812 cases, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani with 1,081 cases, Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri with 706 cases, Justice Saman Riffat Imtiaz with 685 cases, and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro with 529 cases.

Additional judges, including Justice Babar Sattar (387 cases), Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan (347 cases), and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb (107 cases), also made substantial contributions to the court’s caseload.
