ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) imposed fines on the personnel of Islamabad police who conducted a raid in Lahore without arrest warrants and ordered strict disciplinary action against them for the illegal abduction of a woman and her three minor daughters.

A single bench of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani on Monday announced the reserved verdict, saying that the detailed written judgment of the case would be released later.

The IHC bench ordered to quash the FIR as the petitioners had prayed for quashing of FIR No. 658/25, dated 20.09.2025, under Sections 279/324/427/353/186 PPC r/w 13/20/65 A.O. registered at Tarnol Police Station, Islamabad.

The petitioners highlighted the alleged high-handedness by the policemen against the woman and her children, who were unlawfully detained in connection with a financial dispute involving former PIA officials Musharraf Rasool, Waqas Ahmad, and Sohail Aleem.

The petitioner’s counsel contended that the police staged a fake encounter and had unlawfully apprehended his client’s wife. He further contended that the petitioners have been falsely nominated in a series of other cases, including FIR No. 28/25 under Sections 381/34 PPC, registered at Police Station Phulgran, Islamabad. It was further submitted that the petitioners are currently on bail who are being harassed due to a civil dispute, and the registration of multiple cases against them demonstrates the highhandedness of the police.

Justice Kayani, after hearing the arguments, imposed a fine of Rs. 100,000 each on police officers who were part of the raiding team that went to Lahore without due legal authority.

The court also ordered to quash a criminal case (FIR No. 658/25) registered against Waqas Ahmed and his wife at the Tarnol Police Station. This case was allegedly connected to a property dispute involving Waqas Ahmed, Sohail Aleem, and former PIA CEO Musharraf Rasool.

Justice Kayani ordered the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police to initiate immediate departmental proceedings against all police officials involved in both the illegal abduction from Lahore and the questionable Tarnol case. The IG has been directed to submit a compliance report to this court after taking action.
