KARACHI: The Pakistan Navy on Sunday reaffirmed its operational readiness and war-fighting capability by successfully conducting a live weapon firing exercise in the North Arabian Sea.
According to a statement issued by the Directorate General Public Relations (Pakistan Navy), during the exercise, a Pakistan Navy ship carried out a Live Weapon Firing (LWF) of the FM-90(N) Extended Range Surface-to-Air Missile, successfully engaging highly manoeuvrable aerial targets. The firing demonstrated the navy’s combat potential and its ability to respond effectively to aerial threats in the maritime domain.
The exercise was witnessed at sea by Commander Pakistan Fleet, Rear Admiral Abdul Munib, who observed the firing onboard a Pakistan Navy fleet unit. He commended the officers and sailors involved in the exercise for their professionalism, dedication, and high level of preparedness.
Rear Admiral Abdul Munib reiterated the Pakistan Navy’s firm resolve to ensure the seaward defence of Pakistan and to safeguard the country’s national maritime interests under all circumstances, the statement added.
The Pakistan Navy regularly conducts such exercises to maintain operational preparedness and enhance combat capabilities in line with evolving security challenges in the region.
