C-130 carrying Pakistan army team, relief supplies arrive in Colombo

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan Air Force C-130 aircraft carrying a Pakistan Army search-and-rescue team and emergency relief supplies arrived in Colombo on Wednesday, following special instructions from the Prime Minister to assist Sri Lanka in the aftermath of the recent floods.

The Pakistani team was received at the airport by Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister for Ports and the Pakistan High Commissioner to Sri Lanka. According to officials, Pakistan’s support includes immediate relief supplies transported by air, while an additional 200 tons of humanitarian assistance is scheduled to reach Sri Lanka by sea in the coming days.

Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its timely support and assured full cooperation for relief operations. Pakistan reiterated that it stands with Sri Lanka in every moment of difficulty and remains committed to supporting the flood-affected communities.
