HYDERABAD: On the occasion of the 16 Days of Activism, a special programme was organized under the directives of Provincial Minister for Women Development, Shahina Sher Ali, by the In-charge of Women Complaint Cell, Syeda Quratulain Shah, focusing on women’s rights and protection.

At the event, the In-charge of the Women Complaint Cell and Safe House, Syeda Quratulain Shah, stated that under the leadership of Provincial Minister Shahina Sher Ali, special measures are being taken to aware women about the available facilities in department, legal aid, and protection procedures. She explained that the purpose of the programme was to empower women and girls, raise awareness among them, and encourage them to speak out against violence. The main theme of the programme was “Digital Violence,” and was attended by civil society members, media personnel, and government officials.

On this occasion, the Regional Head of Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO), Amjad Baloch, said that during the 16 Days of Activism, the non-governmental organization SPO is promoting awareness and education in the community through its various projects. The goal of this campaign is to empower youth, and women about their rights, protection, and prevention of violence. He stated that their organization spreads the message through awareness-raising activities, training sessions, and educational programmes that education is the key to closing the doors of oppression and injustice.

The Standing Committee Chairperson for the Women Development Department, Farah Suhail, said that the 16 Days of Activism is a global pledge to end all forms of violence against women and girls, and these days remind us that it is necessary to raise our voice against oppression, whether it occurs at home or in society. Let us all work together for an environment where every individual is safe, dignified, and empowered.
