ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) strongly condemned the suicide blast outside the District Courts (G-11), Islamabad, wherein 12 people lost their lives, and around 36 sustained injuries.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, SCBA President Haroon ur Rashid, Secretary Malik Zahid Aslam Awan, and the association’s cabinet condemned the suicide blast.

According to the reports, several individuals, including advocates and one ASC/Member of the SCBAP, Zubair Aslam Ghuman, son of Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam Ghuman, a former Additional Secretary, are among the 12 people who tragically lost their lives in this horrific act of violence. Many others were critically injured.

The President, Secretary, and Cabinet members are deeply saddened by this extreme act of terrorism and express their heartfelt condolences to the family of Zubair Aslam Ghuman, as well as to the families of the other victims.

Condemning this brutal act of suicide bombing in the strongest possible terms, the SCBA President stated that an incident of this magnitude in the heart of the federal capital raises serious concerns regarding the safety of the legal community as well as of the common citizens. Acknowledging the efforts of the security forces against extremist groups, he emphasized that it is imperative to hold accountable those who seek to disrupt peace and instill fear within our communities.

The SCBA demands that those responsible for this barbaric act be brought to justice without delay. Additionally, they called upon the federal government and relevant law enforcement agencies to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of the legal community and of the general citizens to prevent similar incidents in the future. The Bar Association once again extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and stands in solidarity with the security forces of Pakistan.
